VRIJESCHOOL – 3e klas – Engels

.

The class stands in a ring and the teacher speaks the words and joins in with the exercise. The movements are obvious from the text.
.

Here on the earth I stand upright,

I turn my head left, I turn it to right,

I look up to the sky, then down to the ground,

But to look behind, I must turn right round.
.

Repeat

.

I can raise my heels and stand on tip-toe.

Then bend my knees and down I go.

The earth would like to keep me there

But I can push myself up in the air.

Straight up again on my toes I am.

Heels down, feet firm, the way I began.
.

Repeat, but the fourth line is

.

But I can shoot myself up in the air. (jumping)

.

With my feet quite firm I can stand upright.

Then bend to the left and then to the right.

Forwards I can bend quite low

But backwards it’s not so easy to go.

.

I can roll myself up like a snail in its shell;

I can unroll and stand like a post just as well.

Arms apart, and the form of a cross I take;

Arms down, feet apart, a triangle I make.

With my head stretching upwards, my arms flung afar,

I take the shape of a five pointed star.

.

One step to the left I readily take

And one to the right I can also make.

A step to the front I take with speed;

To step to the back more courage I need.

.

Repeat with “spring” (from one foot to the other)

.

Repeat with “jump” (feet together)

.

My arms I stretch forward parallel to the ground

And make a half circle by swinging them round.

A straight line I make from hand to hand.

Still parallel to the ground where I stand.

My hands reach out to horizons wide

But if I let go, they drop to my side.

.

I lean to the left and should drop to one side

But a foot stops my fall and my arms are flung wide.

With a push I can stand straight again on my feet.

Head up and arms down, tidy and neat.

.

Repeat with “right” and “forward”

.

My arms straight up to the sky extend

And keeping them stretched my body I bend.

Down go my hands, down my head goes

Until my fingers touch my toes.

.

Upwards I stretch to the sky once more.

As far as I can away from the floor.

My descending hands feel the circle around

And my heels sink slowly down to the ground.

I can lie horizontally on the ground;

.

I can raise my legs slowly then cycle around.

I can cycle and cycle with all my might.

Then down with the left leg and down with the right.
